Masked men caught at Dubai Airport hours after Dh660,00 heist
AI tools and rapid coordination lead to arrests in under two hours
DUBAI – Dubai Police have arrested two masked men who stole Dh660,000 from a supermarket and attempted to flee the country.
The suspects were apprehended at Dubai International Airport just moments before boarding their flight. The arrests were made less than two hours after the crime was reported, and the stolen amount was fully recovered, according to Bur Dubai Police Station.
Investigations revealed that the duo had carefully planned the robbery. Late at night, they broke into the supermarket through a back entrance, cutting the door open with sharp tools. Inside, they broke four cash boxes containing Dh60,000 before forcing open the main safe to steal another Dh600,000.

The theft was discovered early the next morning when an employee noticed signs of a break-in and immediately informed the authorities. A rapid-response team, including forensic experts and CID officers, arrived to collect evidence and review security footage.
Despite wearing masks to hide their identities, the suspects were identified through artificial intelligence tools, data analysis, and forensic evidence. Swift coordination between Bur Dubai Police Station and the General Department of Airport Security led to the duo’s arrest at the airport before take-off.
The suspects have since been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings.
